Shawn will be doing acoustic shows @ the Bistro every Thursday all winter long as part of a "Shawn & Sushi" celebration. Bring a friend, drink some tequila, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Come early for a good seat!!

Just wanted to send a thank you for another great year of Rock 101/Bud Light Smooth Cruises. As always, you guys managed to keep our listeners and friends rockin’ with the excellent tunes. Everyone always has an awesome time when you guys are playing! Great job. I hope we can do it again next summer. Shawn – We had a great time as well. The bride and groom thought the whole day was absolutely perfect and just exactly what they wanted. I had numerous people ask about Rift and they let me know how awesome you guys were. I agree! I hope we see you in this area again soon!

Hi guys---thanks for another FANSTATIC night of music and fun-----the Mandan Eagles was such a fun place to dance---no cigarette smoke to contend with! As always, you guys sure put on a awesome party!! Keep up the great job----also, Shawn, sorry about tipping over your t-shirt containers---a few too many shots-----me and my bff’s will be wearing our RIFT t-shirts for the next girls night out when you guys play!!

There's your ordinary, average, everyday, run of the mill, garden-variety, "seen one-seen 'em all" bald singer/songwriters, and then there's Shawn Oban. Shawn just seems to be a cut above the rest of them. Shawn's got a wonderfully charming stage presence, a great voice, and guitar chops that would put your 80 year-old arthritic grandma to shame. (Refer to www.dictionary.com for the definition of the word: "humor")
You gotta admire a guy who can do a weekly gig and keep people coming out to see him, and it's even more impressive if he can make the gig fun and interesting every time. Shawn does just that, and contrary to the belief of some, Shawn has originals of his own that reflect the soul and style of someone with a real talent and love for music. Good music, for the most part, seems to stem from personal experiences and perspectives of one's own life and the world around them, and that's what I hear in Shawn's music.
I would suggest to anyone who finds themselves looking for something to do between the hours of 7-10 on a Thursday night to go check out Shawn at the Bistro. Good food, good music, and a great atmosphere, what more could you ask for?

Rift continues to rock! Whoever thinks that Rift doesn't rock, is just a jealous dweeb. I have a great time everytime I see Rift. That is what it is all about, having a great time! Rift plays music that is fun. They play music to get you out on the dance floor. I have seen many bands that play standard classic rock tunes, and everybody just sits in their chairs and drinks. I want to have a good time when I see a band, and Rift always delivers! I am also a guy who likes to see hot chicks on the dance floor, and they seem to come out in droves when Rift plays. Keep it up Rift! See you in 2008!
